Part of the Riyadh Public Transport Project (RPTP), the Riyadh metro is a rapid transit system under construction in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The RPTP will be the largest public transport project, comprising construction of a metro network, a bus system and other transport services in Riyadh.

The project calls for the construction of road and infrastructure work located at King Abdul Aziz Road Development (Masar), Makkah, Saudi Arabia. King Abdul Aziz Road in the western part of the city of Makkah, extending for a length of 1,200,000 square meters from the western entrance of Makkah (the intersection of Jeddah highway with the third ring road) up to Jabal Omar Project and passes through some unplanned settlements.

The project’s scope of work consists of a marine terminal in Jazan Refinery and Jazan Economic City, the largest oil refinery in Saudi Arabia. The multiple-pier marine terminal will support the supply of crude oil from the Saudi Arabian oil fields to the refinery and enable the export of surplus volumes from the refinery to global markets. The terminal will be designed to accommodate very large crude carriers (VLCCs).

The iconic KAPSARC building, designed, and engineered by Zaha Hadid Architects and Arup, features various departmental edifices forming a contiguous closed architecture by spanning the streets and courtyards between the buildings with translucent, double-skin membrane cells, to provide shade and ventilation without obscuring light or allowing direct penetration of sunshine. The structural skin is an intelligently arranged composite of steel and fabric, random and organic in appearance and with a testing sculptural form. The challenge was to identify a glass-PTFE fabric that would provide the translucency and strength required by the architect’s demanding specification, to which Arkaz delivered beyond expectations.

El Seif has been awarded the main contract to design and build three residential complexes in three different areas in Jizan at Jizan City, Farasan, and Baish. The scope includes detailed design, engineering procurement, construction, testing & commissioning of a total of 2,100 residential units including 281 apartment buildings, 417 villas, schools, sport clubs, mosques, clinics, shopping centers, recreational facilities, military police buildings, service buildings, administrative buildings, warehouses, workshops, petrol stations and others.

The inaugural Saudi Arabian Grand Prix F1 course being a street circuit, running on existing streets, the project’s scope included construction of many new temporary and permanent structures, as well as expansion of existing facilities in the Al-Shati corniche area, including the Yacht Club expansion to serve the F1 officials, drivers and crews, as well as the fans and global media. Required to meet stringent Saudi building code and safety standards, both the permanent and temporary structures were to be constructed to withstand the extreme harsh conditions of a beach environment, using the best quality waterproofing materials and adhering to the highest construction standards to ensure long-term structural integrity and sustainability.
